Diego Vío
Born in Grenoble, France, he studied at the University Diego Portales Law School.
Education.
University Diego Portales, J.D. in Legal and Social Sciences, 2000.
Catholic University of Chile, Diploma in Financial Administrative Law, majoring in Natural Resources, 2004.
Diego has worked as legal advisor to the Mining Ministers, Mr. Alfonso Dulanto and Ms. Karen Poniachik, 2003-2006; as Chief Legal Advisor of the Mining Ministry, 2006-2008; and legal and legislative advisor to the Energy Minister, Mr. Marcelo Tokman, position in which he coordinated the drafting and passing of legal bills on energy matters, 2008-2010.
Furthermore, Mr. Vío has actively participated in the drafting and passing of an additional variety of bills, among which the following are noteworthy: the specific mining tax on mining activity, closure of mining work areas, competent person and certification of mining reserves and resources, fiscal incentive for solar collectors and the creation of the Energy Ministry.
