Meridian expands its operation in Chile

Minera Meridian Limited (“Meridian”) closed two deals during August 2007, with the legal assistance of Núñez, Muñoz & Cía, Abogados. The first of them destined to acquire 65% of a group of mining concessions in the district of El Membrillo-Chancón. It is expected that the reserves of such concessions plus those of Minera Florida, owned by Meridian, would reach the amount of two million ounces of gold. In addition, Meridian acquired the gold deposit called La Pepa, for the amount of US$14,500,000 and the payment of a NSR of 2,3%.
